Is Debian dieing ?

Planet Debian has a few posts on how silly administrative tasks and procedures are slowing down Debian development and discouraging new maintainers.

This is a very sad development and I hope it will be resolved soon. I have wanted to go through the NM process aswell so I could contribute to Debian, but the process looks so complicated and timeconsuming that I decided to delay it.
